- 38 short fragments of the best Cerrone's songs. Instead making 5 CDs with full versions somebody decided to cut down every track to 3-4 minutes and squeeze everything in 2 CDs. What a shame.
Great Best Of compilation that would deserve five stars if it would have the full length versions instead of the short edits. The songs are still great, but I (and I'm sure many more people) would've bought a 3, 4 or even 5 disc box with all the full mixes.
That said: other than that there isn't really something to complain about. Short or not, the songs on here are fire!
on the LP the second chance track is a rod stewart cover "standing in the shadow of love", and not credited. how is that possible ? what is this track and why no one did notice ?
Great sound quality and a lovely vinyl cut and pressing. Also good to see the Malligator label logo reproduced for this release. My only slight wish ( in agreement with reviewer _Mat79) was that the long versions of the major hits had been on this LP. Cerrone’s production values were always good back in the day with lovely deep rich bass beats and EQ balance. Pleased to see he still cares about this sort of quality, which isn’t always present in Disco classics of the era. Five stars from me too and well worth the money.
Great compil from Cerrone. It includes a lot of old hits but also some songs from the last album.
The pressing and the sound are great! No surface noise and nice dynamic.
Note that this compilation doesn't include the long versions but the edit ones.
How could this be the best of Cerrone when the majority of the better cuts are edits?? One of the charming things about Cerrone in particular (and EuroDisco on the whole) was their album length versions. Love and Kisses,Santa Esmerelda ,THP Orchestra ,Jumbo ,Trax,and most Giorgio Moroder productions (including Donna Summer) were entire sides ,giving most musicians playing on the tracks ,their individual time to shine..... This compilation could do so much better!!
