- Just got mine - definitely this press, pretty filthy.. hope it cleans up and plays ok.. but I'd avoid anyway
- Poor quality pressing, lots of ticks and pops, light scuffs, and signs of handling. A new record shouldn't look or sound like this.
- Edited 5 months agoI don't have any other pressings to compare, but honestly, really cranked up on my system this sounds absolutely excellent! Very powerful and dynamic, NO complaints whatsoever. And, especially for albums that were made at the time this originally came out, I was not expecting much more than a fairly flat, digital sounding mastering like many from that time. NOPE! Sounds great, as well as it's companion pressing of the Debut album. I was able to get a 2-fer on Amazon and they both sound bloody amazing!
What I am listening on, and trust me, I'm not saying my system is the GREATEST, but it really does show up differences in pressings and mastering - Case in point, a lot of the recent 1/2 speed Abbey Road pressings on my system have sounded rather flat and 2 dimensional. Not this baby! 😁
https://photos.app.goo.gl/9ja3UKob7tppW4Y38 - My favorite RATM record, for sure. I really don't understand the comments though, mine is really good without any pops or clicks and mastering is "fine". It's not muddy or too flat.
- Edited 7 months agoMine was filthy and scuffed first time out. I cleaned it as best I could a while there were a few very light pops and and clicks in a few spots, it still had some kick. The mastering could’ve been done better but over all it’s such a kick ass album anyway that it’s still worth having for 20 or bucks
- no pops or clicks, music is great, but I don’t like the mastering at all. everything sounds bad, especially compared to self titled 2012/2015 reissues

The DEFINITIVE CD version of this album, make no mistake about that! Bonus inclusion of the 1998 single "No Shelter" (from the Godzilla film/soundtrack released the same year) turned out to be quite mandatory and the fact that it was featured only on the Australia and Japan releases tells me that Sony really doesn't care about its consumer base here in the States, whatsoever. I'm not saying they're as bad as Universal when it comes to how that company runs their music division, but they're getting mighty darn close with each year that passes (ugh)...
>:-( - Edited 8 months agoThis things slaps, deep bass as with all RATM MoV reissues this is the version to get, I have sampled other reissues and they all sound thin, lack the definition, but this thing on a single LP sound huge, also this was recorded live in studio and mixed although not entirely, but will never sound polished and on point like their self title album, different approach to a different album.
Overall Great variant of a very underappreciated album from this great band.
