- I recently ordered a copy of this album from Barnes & Noble and I received a color variant that’s not on Discogs. It’s a translucent light purple/pink with light blue streaks. Really cool looking pressing! It’s the 2LP with the extra tracks and both records appear to be the same color. Does anyone else have this one or have any info about it? Thanks
- Edited one year agoSwervedriver's comeback is as strong as any of their albums from the 90s (which are very good indeed). They pick right up with their mash of Joni Mitchell chords and progressions, Sonic Youth -style structured noise, surprising dissonances and Detroit ramalamafafa overlaid with Adam Franklin's mellow and melodic voice. He has the same quality as other Brit forebears as John Martyn, Nick Drake or Dave Gilmour, where you just want to hear more of him sing. As always, the songs are strong, well arranged and memorable. Swervedriver is at the top of their game. For all time.

I just fucking love Swervedriver is all. This is up their with everything else they did.- Great album. Saw them in a small venue during the Canada tour for this, they were awesome. I bought the CD then but found a used vinyl copy and couldn't resist. Although I see others with issues, this pressing sounds great to me. Only complaint is the disk one spindle hole is crazy tight.
- Pressing sounds good to me, on the Cobraside version from the States. The noise you hear is also present on the CD version, so I think that's just how it was recorded. The vinyl itself is pretty quiet.
- Think it was described as Strawberry & Cream Vinyl (or somesuch), rather than sand/blood by the label (as it isn't actually sand/blood coloured...).
- Edited 8 years agoThis album opens with a jangly riff. It picks up with a driving rhythm. Song after song is instantly familiar and slightly hypnotic like a pop album should be, except for one or two unfortunate moments. A few waves of distorted pitch-bending chords and generous tremolo put this album solidly in shoegaze territory, but its summery melodies make it almost a power pop record. Adam Franklin's laid back vocals keep the music cool. The album cover pretty much conveys the dominant emotion here. It's an album for a late summer afternoon ride back home. I got the double-LP. Sounds good. My only concern is I'm a little worried I'll listen to it so much it will wear out and I'll need to buy a new one.
- I was told 200 copies were pressed of this edition form the band when on tour, can anyone else confirm?
- I bought the double album and the quality was pretty bad, with distortion through the vocals and guitars especially, had to send it back. Cherry Records, what's going on?
