- This record is very playable......but the out of tune guitar early on kind of kills me. It's awesome to hear them re-tuning and from there on this kicks!
Sure the original tape suffers from "wow and flutter" but it's confined mostly to the in-between song chats by Paul, when the band is in full blasting mode the tape issues aren't that bad and can be easily ignored if you're a seasoned bootleg collector.
Remember, this is only the 3rd KISS radio broadcast ever so the rarity factor can't be dismissed, plus it has the first of only 2 live recordings of the unreleased song "ACROBAT", that alone makes it worth having and listening to.
Sure it doesn't have the sound quality of Cleveland April 1st, Detroit April 7th or Long Beach May 31...but c'mon, it's got "ACROBAT"!
5 star for historical importance and show/setlist. 3 stars for quality of the recording.
Not a good sounding record. This sounds like it was duped from a stretched out tape. Lots of wow and flutter. Not recommended, this one is pretty hard to listen to.- Those who have this, what color is yours? Mine is red
Was this recorded on a Teddy Ruxpin doll? Performance is great of course but the tapes it’s lifted from were not cared for at all. You gotta really really really be a Kiss completist for this one.
Don't expect "quality" with this one. It's more of a collectors item than a playable record.
Obviously the concert is recorded in 1974 at Lafayette Music Room, Memphis.
