Reviews
- This is a must for any Sons of the Pioneers fan for two reasons: first, it contains twelve great compositions from Bob Nolan, the poet laureate of the American West. Second, it captures the Sons of the Pioneers in their prime. If you want a third reason, this is a fresh collection of material not compiled in any other album; this is the only place you will hear these songs. The quality is great, since this is a 1966 studio album recorded at RCA Victor's "Music Center of the World" in Hollywood. This lightly orchestrated version features the tremendous vocal prowess of Lloyd Perryman, Dale Warren and Tommy Doss (who sounds so much like Bob Nolan that you can barely tell them apart). As a life-long fan and collector of the Sons of the Pioneers, I can't find any reason to pass this album up. In fact, I searched for it for years before finding it.
