This is a very nice pressing. I haven't heard any other pressings but I got it for 15€ in best condition and I'm very happy. It has a nice soundstage and full sound. Nothing to complain about.

Assuming this is mono? It does not say stereo anywhere on the record or jacket.

Comparing to digital lossless, I think the bass response is significantly weaker. However, the treble/midrange is superior to digital. It’s kind of a give and take and due to the mastering selections. SLIGHTLY noisy pressing on parts of both sides with zero visible indicators of a scratch. This is After an ultrasonic cleaning followed by another in distilled water. Just wish I wasn’t missing the low end detail which makes Bossa Nova so great to me.

Astounding recording on the cheap. Lush, full, enveloping sound. Highly recommended!

This is a brilliant follow-up to the previous Jazz Samba album. Getz continues to build credibility as the greatest Bossa Nova-playing New Yorker of the '60s. Bonfa's playing is absolutely marvelous, sometimes frenetic, always pushing the music forward. Toledo's vocals are beautiful and haunting.

"Insensatez" really hits the mark here with a haunting vocal and driving inverted clave. "So Danco" is more well-known with Joao Gilberto's playful vocal, but this sax melody version is quite interesting as well.
In short these tunes are well played and sound beautiful.

Getz eschews his signature warm fuzzy "Ipanema tone" in favor of a strident honk reminiscent of Coltrane and Rollins. This is quite acceptable for this ensemble. The mix is a little bass heavy on A4 "Favela", but then becomes tame again.

This early pressing sounds clean and punchy, my favorite.

On A5, does anybody else have very low sounding guitar on this issue?
