Hixxy's mix is fine. Haven't really listened to it much. The mixing is solid but is let down by a production style I'm not keen on and honestly I don't remember a whole lot of it.
Sharkey continues the trend from the previous release with another great freeform mix. Some very well deserved appearances from Ephexis, though it does leave me sad that Gammer never ventured into freeform all too much after hearing the tracks he has on here.
Listen to Disc 3 for Into The Future and the gabber at the end. I like Scott's music and all but like I've said before I'm not a huge fan of mixes that are like 80% his production style.
Dougal's CD has some nice tracks on it but overall not as good as his mix in 13. Ready For War is a banger.- this is an alright bonkers release, but scott brown's selection from, "blow da club down" to, "fuck your style" is really cheesy, like the track " the prophecy unfolds" (tha playah remix) in his bonkers 13 mix. its a good mix if you dont mind those last few tracks.
- Edited 19 years agoFrankly, this Bonkers release was overall... boring. Hixxy's mix would be my favorite here... simple because I like most the tracks. But even so, the energy dies on the last few songs... and pretty much kills the hype in my opinion. Sharkey ... well, it's not bad. But even after listening to it a few times I don't remember any of it. Same goes for Scott Brown and Dougal. Just nothing with the mixing that really grabs me here. Some kick ass songs, and most of Hixxy's mix is good. But overall, I would say... pick another Bonkers. I would have to say though... I think everyone working on Bonkers was simply using this to make bore us and get us ready for the wickedness of Legends of The Core.
