Notes
Miles Davis's twenty-seventh full-length studio album released on March 30, 1970 on Columbia Records. It marked his continuing experimentation with electric instruments that he had featured on his previous record, the critically acclaimed In A Silent Way (1969). With these instruments, such as the electric piano and guitar, Davis departed from traditional jazz rhythms in favor of loose, rock-influenced arrangements based on improvisation.

Reviews
- This is the pressing of Bitches Brew currently on the market. I understand the VMP is also excellent, but it is only available in their box set.
- Flat. Silent. Incredible imaging. Definitely a solid listen. All MOFIs are good, some are great. This one is great
- Edited one month agoCan anyone with this MoFi SACD confirm whether they also notice crackling distortion on the right channel of Pharaoh's Dance (~19:10 onward)? Both DSD and CD layers too! I'm quite distraught over this... what the heck MoFi...
EDIT: Distortion from master confirmed. See comments section of MoFi LP version. Ughh... - I’ll echo miss.erica’s thoughts below and confirm that, on my system, this pressing is mediocre at best. It sounds very flat with audible surface noise through most of its four sides.
Maybe it’s just my copy but I would look at any other pressing than this. - Edited one month ago

I have US QUAD copy, for years I have been happy with it (play on stereo only system) and regard it as one of best demo disc in my vinyl collection. I just picked up this 1978 Canadian reissue today, after cleaning and dropped needle....wow it's sure different than QUAD but sounding "correct" and better!! Full, large sound stage, each instrument is well defined (and solidly weighted). In particular, this Canadian reissue has perfect tonal balance that's clearly superior than my US QUAD copy. Really happy with this pick. - This is a beauty of a jazz record. Here we have a very nice sounding reissue of Miles Davis masterpice. The sound is analog warm, well balanced, fresh and crisp.
- A wonderful package and an excellent tribute to a timeless record. Includes a fine sounding, fully analogue vinyl reissue. Easily recommended!

Superb pressing of one of the great masterpieces of jazz. Easily the best I have heard so far. Highly recommended!!- this cd master as well as any other version with this blue border AFAIK has a very muffled sound to it. the reissues with the added bonus track “feio” use a remix of the album, which despite some compression which could be annoying to some I think still sounds alright to me, however I’m looking for the original mix to own. I wish there was an more accessible, better sounding CD of this album with the original mix, as the MFSL SACD and the various old Japanese CDs aren’t the easiest or cheapest to obtain. you will either have to resort to getting a copy on LP or an expensive, possibly imported CD to obtain this original mix in a good quality sound which I think is so unfortunate for such a monumental album.
at the end of the day, this was the way I first listened to this album to get into it, so ultimately my enjoyment of this album wasn’t diminished from a bad quality sounding copy, but as this was what I bought brand new in a store just recently, I just wish we had something better.
