this record is soooo good. the bass is prominent unlike many soul music productions of the late 60's.- Edited 11 months ago

After being slapped around by "Motown" (just a figure of speech), "The Isley Brothers" took a breath, dust themselves off, and re-revamped themselves...They restarted their "T-Neck" record label, signed a deal with "Bubba Records" and got to work!!!!
The result? The "It's Our Thing" album...Yes!!!!! Now this is "The Isley's"!!!!!
It was just what they needed....They also had younger Brothers "Marvin" (Bass), and one of the most unsung Guitarist of all time "Ernie" along for the ride (even though they were not officially part of the group yet).....
Now as usual with albums back in the days, the wrong song starts the albums....
In this case the Massive, Massive, Massive HIT and Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate Crown Jewel, "It's Your Thing", should have started the album...It became more than a HIT, it became an ANTHEM!!! To this day, every Movie, Commercial and everyone walking around town can just refer to this Classic!!!!
Now, getting all that out the way, the song that does start the album in, "I Know Who You Been Socking It To", follows the same pattern as "It's Your Thing", which is why I said that it should have started it instead....
There are other joints worth mentioning....
"Songs like, "Somebody Been Messin'", "Save Me", "Feel Like The World" and "He's Got Your Love" are FANTASTIC, and really help the album flow....
Thing is after that there is filler, so as much as I like this album, I can't start the Album Revolution just yet....That will come later, but for now, we revel in what is to come with one of the most "Legendary" groups of all time!!!!!!! referencing It's Our Thing (LP, Album, Reissue) TNS 3001
did this come before or after the digital remasters? anyone know?referencing It's Our Thing (LP, Album, ARC press) TNS 3001
Back to typing class for somebody. This title is "It's Your Thing" and not "It's Our Thing."referencing It's Our Thing (LP, Album, Reissue) TNS 3001
