Giving this a spin for the first time in three years, beautiful pressing. Lost in 'Pyongyang' as I type and possibly the finest track Blur ever recorded.

One of the reasons why we love vinyl: the design as the used physical haptic cardboard as mirror as inner sleeves which are even printed reverse too. Amazing artwork here. Done with 💕. Not even to mention the press quality here which is also above the average. A must have for vinyl lovers

Fuckin' beautiful artwork. My friend got this for me for 290 HKD in HMV which is fairly cheap compared anywhere else I've seen - even abroad. I have yet to listen to it but it screams quality.

I wish it had a lyrics sheet, though.

Very creative set of songs from Blur. I've actually never really listened to Blur except for what was played on the radio in the 90s. I don't own any of their previous albums so I can't really compare this to any preconceived notions of the bands early sound. All I can say is that Damon Albarn is a brilliant songwriter and this album is truly unique in the fact that Blur can claim this as an original sound. The songs are inventive and intriguing. The album was recorded very well and sounds great on vinyl. I would pick up a copy if you haven't already.

Serving Ice Cream Hot
Graham Coxon’s guitar is a treat and Damon Albarn without Graham Coxon’s guitar was just simian. “Thought I was a spaceman digging out my heart in some distant sand dunes in a car park cause the desert had encroached upon the places where we live. People like me find it to keep the day upset but we never succeeded in fact we failed.” – “Thought I Was a Spaceman” is a real tour de force, “I Broadcast” is an angry and mighty punkish song full of wicked guitars and “My Terracotta Heart” is pretty lyrical. The Magic Whip is a good album but some songs need a bit more magic and some songs need a bit more whipping.

Although Blur since 2009 again in the original occupation occurred, seemed to have a new studio album long time no option. The band took every now and then something on, but doubted that they had to bring out. That is pretty good to understand. Real britpop, the style that Blur grootma Act in the 1990s, the band no longer. But of course the fans want just rock songs in the style of The Kinks and XTC. The band did not know on what direction they had to as well. Maybe The Magic Whip therefore opens with the old-fashioned rocking Lonesome Street. A number that Blur could release in 1995, then we have that already had! It is followed by more experimental numbers, which Blur much more innovative sounds. The Magic Whip sounds so as a sequel to the imaginative solo albums of singer Damon Albarn and guitarist Graham Coxon. This is not a repeat of Parklife (1994) or The Great Escape (1995). Some fans will find that unfortunate, but for adventurous listeners, it is good news.
