Bomfunk MC's – In Stereo

Lovely sounding pressing, nicely looking record and great quality sleeve. I wouldnt complain if a lyric sheet was included. Overall a cool repress, must have for all the Bomfunk fans. I really hope MoV would repress Burning Sneakers as well.

So happy its finally out, the album version for “freestyler” with the intro is the best one!

I have always so much fun listening to this classic of electronic music. It's hard for me to give less than 5/5, even though the structure of the songs are relatively "simple" if not repetitive, and the lyrics don't have to be taken seriously. However, the underground urban vibe that DJ Gismo put in "In Stereo" is ultra efficient and makes you feel like you're in a subway station under Helsinki.

It contains of course the famous "Freestyler", yet I personally prefer tunes like "Other Emcee's", "Rocking, Just To Make Ya Move" and the eponymous title "In Stereo".
"Other Emcee's" features a genius use of vocoder and proves that robotised human voices can sound good. Forget the autotune, and listen to this.
Then, "Rocking, Just To Make Ya Move" should have been the big hit from this LP instead of "Freestyler" in my opinion. Unless you're disabled or stoned, it's impossible not to dance on it.
"Fashion Styley" is an interesting mix between ragga and drum 'n' bass, and differs from the whole rest of the CD.

The whole CD is around 48 minutes of non stopping fun. It may not be a masterpiece, but you can only have a smile when you listen to it. Shame that Bomfunk MC's disbanded not so long after its release.
To sum up, "In Stereo" is an exotic record straight from Finland which has to be in any collection of breakbeat and/or hip-hop albums.

I'm just sure it's acid house and almost non produced style!

Perfect recording, freq. response with my Victor Z1S match CD version, no cyclic surface noise or pops, no distortion. Nice dynamic range

This vinyl is mastered perfectly it is so clear and it is HD is almost like 3D sound it is digitally remastered and you can hear absolutely every single solid Harry synth hi hat and so on and so forth it is actually one of the best remastered albums we've ever hurt Clarity is unbelievable

On CD are 12 audio tracks and 2 videoclips (Freestyler, Uprocking Beats).

This release has had surprising longevity for me.

Like everyone else, I bought the album after getting hooked on the catchy tune 'Freestyler', which was all over the radio and television at the time. The rest of the album follows in similar fashion, with big bass lines, in-your-face vocals and breaks influenced percussion.

While this isn't an album I'm proud to own or one that I'd defend as actually being any good, I can definitely say that I enjoy it. When I'm sick of serious music that requires proper attention, this is a very nice distraction which you can sing along to and nod your head. All the tracks are fun.

It's one of those albums that everyone seems to like too: it's like a far inferior version of The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim or The Chemical Brothers - a mish-mash of sounds and ideas which have a real party feel.

Yes, I would recommend this CD, but only if you can pick it up cheap and don't expect much.
