The 2nd album, originally released on 21 May 1984.
Three singles were released from the album: Big Apple, The Lion's Mouth and Turn Your Back On Me.
Released in the United States and Canada as "Extra Play" by Kaja. They are the same album, the only difference being the "US Mix" of Turn Your Back On Me, which was included as a bonus track within the album's 2004 remastered + expanded CD release.
Not to be confused with Kajagoogoo - Extra Play, a promotional "Mini-Album" which shares a name with the United States and Canadian release of the album.

UMC/UMG need to sort it out and re-issue this album. It's been out of print for 21 years and prices for the CD are stupid...

i will fully admit that i disliked this album on my first listen, but it has grown on me SOSOSO much since then. the instrumentals are so nice and definitely an intriguing change from White Feathers!!! I do wish that certain tracks were turned down a little though LOLL it genuinely gets so loud sometimes I have to run over to my record player and lower the volume from time to time BUT BESIDES THAT ITS LOVELY!!!- Edited one year ago

I've had this LP since it was released and often come back to it. Not easy embarking on a new album after your main lead singer and selling point has upped and left, but Nick Beggs was more than capable of lead vocals along with his excellent bass playing. This album shows just what good musicians they all were/are. I remember it getting panned by critics at the time, not surprisingly, and it has its faults, that can't be ignored, but the melodies on certain tracks have stayed with me to this day, especially "Melting the Ice Away", which I often refer to. The 2nd single release "The Lion's Mouth" is excellent, and of course "Big Apple" briefly continued their chart success. "On A Plane", "Part Of Me (Is You)" and the instrumental closer "The Loop" all deserve a mention.
The production is quite "dry", it won't win many sonic awards, but was quite typical of the 80's at that point. Still sounds ok though, and my UK pressing is as good as any, I would imagine.

B5 is a very very nice instrumental a sense of a boogie thing, A3 is ok as well as slow B2. The rest is above obscure.
