After the release of their album "Together" (which was moderately successful), "Philly Soul" producer extrodinares "Kenny Gamble" and "Leon Huff', brought "The Intruders" back in the studio to record "Cowboys To Girls"....
I said that the groups last album got their foot in the door...So that meant that they had to bring it!!!! They did it here!!!!!
The Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate Crown Jewel Title Track, blew through the roof!!!!!! It was a massive, massive massive Hit (#1 R&B, #6 POP)!!!!!!!
"(Love Is Like A) Baseball Game", the 2nd Crown Jewel, wasn't as big as "Cowboys To Girls", but it was at least Top 40 on the POP charts (#4 R&B, #26 POP).....It was still a terrific song, and comparing Love to Baseball is kind of funny....
Other notables were, "Turn The Hands Of Time", "(So Glad I'm) Yours", "Sad Girl" and the 3rd Crown Jewel "Friends No More".....
I didn't understand why "It Must Be Love" is on here, because it was also on "Together"....But as I said before, that was the norm in those days....
I am also not really a fan of their version of "By The Time I Get To Phoenix"....
I do think it was cool to see Liner Notes by "The Temptations", who was the Greatest Vocal Group Ever!!!!! Needless to say though, this album was the stepping stone in order for the group to flourish...... referencing Cowboys To Girls (LP, Album, Stereo) SG 5004
