I was unlucky and received a very dirty copy. It was the start of Side C that was very noisy, with crackle and lots of ticks and pops. Six trips through the ultrasonic cleaner got it down to one or two light ticks. The other three sides were basically silent right out of the box.

This is beautiful and extraordinary music. The album is a real journey, almost a story in sound. It is very manipulated sound, almost a sort of sonic collage. I think it helps to be intoxicated while listening.

Wide soundstage, good separation of instruments when that is intended, but some of the time you just hear a swirl of sound and I think that is what Crosby meant for us to hear.

I bought this having never heard the album before. I didn't know what to expect. I have played it three times through already and I liked it more each time. I think over time this may become one of my favorite records. Well worth $60, highly recommended.

This is one of those underpriced gems that people should own instead of expensive represses. Super great sound and pressing.

This is a very well pressed and packaged record. The disc is flat and quiet. The mastering by Chris Bellman is cut a bit hotter when comparing it to my brother in law's 1971 Monarch Pressing, which is better in some passages, and not so good in others, but the music certainly sparkles! The cover is an excellent reproduction of the original.

Like others have said, this is an excellent pressing. Clean, clear and dynamic. Maybe a little bright in its balance but I'd rather have that than muddy. Buy with confidence.

I just picked up a mint copy today. I have been on fever of this album lately, bought two copies of original Canadian copies (red Atlantic label) and brand new 50th anniversary (also done by Chris Bellman). Here is my take after my shootout:
                1) between this 2010 R1 and 2021 50th, I clearly prefer the earlier copy. Warner, more weight in midrange, high is not as aggressive, basically more analog sounding (even though the 50th suppose to be AAA).
                2) the two original Canadian copies has slight difference (exact same stamper) the one has more bass is the winner copy to my ears. More 3D wrap around sound stage.
                3) between original copy and 2010 R1, it’s a close call if I have to pick one I would go with 2010 R1.

After reading so many positive reviews I bought this copy, and I am quite happy with it as well. There is good amount of energy (both vocal and instruments), spacious sound stage, great extension on both ends. I don’t have any other copies to compare but so far I can’t imagine how it could be any better. Being new vinyl it’s flat and dead quiet, and finally for just little over C$30, this really is no brainer.

Edit: today I played a mint copy of original Canadian pressing (red label Atlantic), the difference between OG and remastered copy is mostly in two area:
                  1) new vinyl has boosted treble. Very subtle, at normal volume you won’t hear it (might even be more desirable to hear more details at moderate volume). Once the volume is up music is roomful with weight and impact like musicians are doing live show in your room, these boosted treble make vocal shouting instead of singing, and more forward (a bit in your face), thus will cause fatigue.
                  2) there is tinny bit of loss of mid and bass definition. For example when the bongos hits, original copy has a bit more “snap” that let you feel the bongos skin, the new copy gives you a vague bassy note. You can still identify it’s the sound of bongo but less texture.

All in all, this remaster copy is still very good. I won’t regret buying it, and when I play in “not so loud”volume it has wonderful sounding with impressive 3D sound stage.

More edit: I just acquired 2010 Rhino copy, ALSO REMASTERED BY Chris Bellman. That copy is decidedly better sounding to me mainly because it avoids boosted treble and retain bit more mid/bass definition. So why Chris Bellman re-did again, after his 2010 remaster is perfectly done? I have no idea but I am glad I found his 2010 copy is the perfect go-to copy for me.

As it sometimes happens, we got a less attractive pressing VS the US (pressed at RTI) but, as others have already pointed out, this one is still amazing.

Knowing this has been pressed at GZ shows that they don't always produce crap (in fact, a lot of the recent pressings coming from this plant are not as bad as they used to be in 2008-2015).

                    This press comes with :
                    - a matte-finished cover. I know some people hate that but i've always been on the other side.
                    - surprisingly, GZ offered a poly-lined inner-sleeve (another proof these guys can do a nice job).

                    My copy was :
                    - almost flat
                    - scratch-free
                    - totally noise-free

PS: if you're really looking for the US press, you'll need to track it hard because Amazon US & other online stores sell the EU press! Apparently, the Rhino shop has the coveted RTI press. AFAIK, you'll need to check the labels to make sure what press you got.

As others have indicated very good sound and pressing via Chris Bellman and Pallas in Germany. The recording by Stephen Barncard was amongst the best of this era. The cover is a bit flimsy and image quality could be much better...the recent Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs reissue actually reproduces the texture and quality of the original sleeve very well indeed.
