A masterpiece collector
All the versions including the two exclusive ones are all incredible, this box set is no joke on us
The "PvD" mix is actually the "PvD E-Werk Club Mix" as noted on the master release https://www.discogs.com/master/8556-Paul-van-Dyk-For-An-Angel
Edited 6 months agoGot it without listening to the several remix versions. IMO it's not possible to produce a "better" version than E-Werk. However, the best rmxes are those I already own in having Paul van Dyk - For An Angel 2009 (The Remixes) (esp. Filo&Peri and Activa). An add up is Miiko Kuisma; Kolonie was also fine but have to listen to again. The others are average.- second print this release proves that there is a need to release the last albums PvD on vinyl to ;-)
- Why they made a second Print Run...if they said that it was a limited one...

Few comments about this being over rated- this was really good at the time. PVD was forging his own path and I loved his mid 90’s sound. Words was fantastic in 1996… Prior to that his stuff had a subtler prog/ early trance sound… This hit before the mega end of millennium gatecrasher trance really kicked off, so it’s easy to tar it with that brush, but it was on the cusp/ possibly ahead of it’s time. Probably kicked it all off, and we hung onto everything this guy was doing at the time - incidentally his essential mix from April 1997 is in my top 3 of all time - ran a 2:47 marathon with that plugged in on repeat… in 2012! Really works lol… sadly not Berlin 😆
