Not sure what happened on this record but somewhere between point A, the outstanding 'One' EP, and this record point B, the rawness, the emotional urgency got lost. Not sure how it happened, I wanted to really like this joint but something is missing. It's too clean for me, I wonder if that was due to the direction of the label or what, or just Seven Davis Jr. growing / changing as an artist. This could definitely work as an album for home listening but I was expecting something more club friendly. Not like everything needs to be "bangers" but the man had such a way with them... Maybe others will connect with it more
