Keith Hudson & Family Man* – Pick A Dub

Hello, does anyone know how is the quality of this pressing please ?

some scuffs and scratches right out of the shrinkwrap, but plays without any skips.

This contains some pretty awesome music and it's a reasonably good pressing considering the sources. I see there's been a few recent reissues of this, I have the 2016 version. One imagines the recent double LP reissues would be from the same plates and mastering. The single disc of this is a classic, however it's definitely worth paying the extra to get the second disc. It's two discs in one Thin sleeve, which doesn't even list the contents of the second disc. Mine still has the price sticker $26.79 picked up out of a bricks and mortar shop on Central Avenue in St Petersburg Florida ... Keith Hudson LPs in general can be very uneven this is the one definite Masterpiece and I listen to the extra tracks at least as often as the main record...

The dub record makes this version worthwhile. Side D is particularly special with the Horace Andy and Augustus Pablo tracks. But yes, some liner notes would have been great. Have no idea how the dub plates came to be.

Hands down the greatest, most scintillating record ever made. That's a bingo!

I have no problems or skips. Very full and nice sound on this one. Definitely a top pick dub album, in my personal top 5.

As others have said side B skips. Don't buy this one

This although having obvious dub production, this album doesn't have that all encompassing feeling that most dub has from the late 70s through to the early 80s. That's not to say it isn't a good album. It is, but if you're looking for dark, deep dub a la Tubby, Scientist style you're really not going to get it here. Only exception being "In The Rain".

I think it may be that the delays and FXs twists don't hang it the air long enough. So you don't find yourself in that rabbit hole of effects and meandering, stripped down musicality that is so uniquely dub.

SOUNDS AWESOME. Slight warp. Zero skips. Meat & potatoes pressing with a hype sticker that aint lying: "THE GREATEST DUB ALBUM EVER" "A MUST HAVE"
