Bought new. Looks like an ancient stamper was re-used to repress this, dimples and all.
Sounds good to me, genuine 70's Studio 1 sound, imperfectione are there, true, but they don't spoil the fun. And there is fun to be had, a lot of it.

Pitted and rough looking press. Doesn't play too bad but there is frequent surface noise but this is easily overlooked when you have tracks like Pepper Roots, Strong Back, Soulful Roots. Highly recommended compilation.

Sounds ok especially by studio one late 80s/90s repress standards. There’s some weird digital artifacting/ interference on a couple of the quieter parts on my copy but it’s still a very enjoyable listen. The extra tracks are very welcome as well (except for the last cut on the album which is very digi dub and doesn’t really fit with the rest of the collection imo)referencing Roots Dub (CD, ) SO CD 50153
Track 15 'Roots Undying' has distortion on CD. Anybody known where I can get a clean version of this track?
