I hope to compare this to the original eventually. - Edited 2 years agoFor the love of all that is sacred, don't buy this. It was completely unplayable right out of the box. No scratches or anything, just unplayable, my CD player couldnt read the first song after the first play and whenever it read a track it sounded like a 128 kps MP3 with tons of hiss. Buy the 2003 reissue instead which is readily and cheaply available.
I have no reason to believe I was conned by the seller because they also sold me a legit CD reissue of Wilco's A.M. in mint condition at the same time. I have no idea why anyone would waste resources making this kind of thing other than perhaps some sort of publishing rights fuckery, it's almost evil if you think about it. 
Completely flat, but with some surface noise towards the end of Slate, and a few small ticks. Overall not a bad pressing.
An unbelievably beautiful-sounding cut. Spacious, deep, and detailed — I can’t imagine this record sounding better on any format.- A perfectly decent sounding cut of this wonderful record, but the 2010 is well worth springing for if you’re on the fence. It smokes this one out of the water.
- My copy is perfectly centered (pretty rare!), dead quiet, and sounds good, with nice, full bass. Doesn't sound bright to me. No Rhino sticker on my copy.
Must be something is wrong with your record payer.

Edited 3 years agoA pretty good pressing. It's not the best this record has ever sounded but as a fan of this album it's 100% worth the current going rate and it sounds pretty good too. No complaints from me. It comes in a nice gatefold and while I'm not the biggest fan of the clear color, I think it looks pretty neat and it matches my copy of No Depression, so I can't complain too much.- Edited 2 years agoThis sounds awesome, clear and spacious mix, imo this is a big upgrade in sound compared to the 1st issue cd i have been listening to 25+ years. I prefer black vinyl but this clear vinyl looks pretty cool and sounds incredible!
Mastered by Ian Sefchick, I have quite a few of his releases and they all sound great!
