Notes

Original US vinyl pressings were embossed with braille on the front cover and inside gatefold, which is the first time an artist used braille on an album’s artwork. The braille on the front cover spells out Stevie’s name and the album title, and the inside gatefold has the message “Here is my music. It is all I have to tell you how I feel. Know that your love keeps my love strong. – Stevie".

Does anyone have this with only German text around the label? Only "Made in (ST 33) Germany" at 6 o'clock is in English. The text goes the whole way around the label on my copy (on this label there is some space to the left and right of "Made in Germany").

Essential Stevie Wonder. Nuff said. Nice pressing too. Great depth to the low end, lush and silky with a warm enveloping soundstage. My copy plays nice and clean, with a bit of surface noise at the beginning of "Superstition".

This pressing sounds fantastic. I don't have a Hollywood on hand to test against, but I'd wager it'd compete well.

Fantastic album, might be his best ever. The sequencing is immaculate and obviously every song is a banger

After some thinking, I decided to also buy this edition of the album as according to Discogs information the total length of Superstition is 4:52, almost 5 minutes. However, it was a total disappointment to find that the correct total length is 4:28 minutes, so this is another false advertisement.

Several editions listed here in Discogs state that the track's length is close to 5 minutes. Once I had a neighbor that had a 12" of Superstition which consisted of an extended version with more instrumental sections of the original 1972 track, with a total of 6 minutes approximately. I've been chasing that 12" for years, but with no luck.

Does anyone know if there's any CD release with a longer version of the original 1972 track? Thanks

Some very quiet, intermittent fuzz in parts of B3, B4, B5 and between those tracks. Not really noticeable when enjoying with company and light conversation, but just enough to be mildly irritating when listening intently on nice gear or good headphones.

That's the only detractor from an otherwise fantastic-sounding pressing though. Bright, clean and dynamic; the kind that demonstrates the reasons why we love vinyl.

Boggles the mind there are no reviews for this pressing, considering it's a winner of a release. It embarrasses the recent (poorly-pressed) reissues with incomparable clarity, depth and noise-free vinyl. This is, hands down, the best I've ever heard Talking Book... records this good are revelations and a reminder of why we got into collecting them in the first place. In my all-time Top 5.

I didn't have any Stevie Wonder in my collection and this seemed like a good place to start. When I was in high school somebody gave me a mix tape that had bits of this album with some songs from Innervisions and Songs in the Key of Life. It was a revelation to someone like who naively only associated Wonder with "I Just Called to Say I Love You." My copy of this album sounds beautiful to my ears. Very happy addition to my collection.
