Uncle Acid* – The Night Creeper

This pressing sounds like absolute garbage. I've had the CD in my car for months so I'm very familiar with the overall sound of the album and I know it is supposed to have a lo-fi vibe but this is terrible. The little bit of highs that the mix had are gone and it seems a bit more narrow as far as the stereo image goes. No dynamics at all. Feels like the life has been completely sucked out of it. I haven't heard any other pressings so I can't compare but this was a huge let down. I'd been wanting this LP for years and was finally gifted one recently and I couldn't be more disappointed.

The color of the record changes given the amount/type of light shown through it. On the platter its just about black, against a lightbulb its like a translucent swamp water - moving it away from the light you can see the gradients of green. Easily mistakable for black on first glance but is actually a much more interesting color pressing than the norm.

Oh yeah, sounds amazing too. The fuzz comes to life like I've never heard Uncle Acid, vinyl is the definitely way to hear this band.

Sounds great to my ears. Had to double check in the light that I wasn't sent black copies - this green can be really dark until you hold it up to light! The dynamics come across great in this pressing, glad to see they also did Mind Control in this colorway. Definitely recommend it.

I've seen different sites use both terms "transparent black" and "swamp green" to describe these new represses of Uncle Acid albums. Does anyone know if they're the same thing, or are there two types of very similar looking represses around?

Don't know how the adding of videos work, but Runaway Girls isn't on this Lp tracklist.

My copy of this sounds fantastic, didnt seem to sound much different than the CD, but this also isnt an audiophile recording in the first place

Another thing...anyone else's copy of LP 2 look like the lacquer was dirty? It has a weird surface texture I can feel with my record brush, and its noisy as all hell. LP 1 is fine, and I mostly bought this for the cover variant anyways, but fucking hell, quality control amirite?

Anyone else's copy of this look like a yellow-ish clear when on a white surface? In light it looks like normal clear, but in/on a mofi sleeve it looks yellow. Very odd, have not seen this before with clear vinyl
