Even though this is from 1981, it's an all-out bombastic 1970s funk, tribal, Indian record, and for the most part it's very, very good. Recordings like these always risk sounding super-dated; and while it is a product of its time, it's a very fair document of the commercial groovy, deep, dank sounds of the period it reflects. Some of its a little cheesy, but the sheer experimentation and invention makes up for it.

This was released some time in the mid 2000's, along with a couple of other Ananda Shankar albums. Not sure, but I think those were legit releases.
