This is probably the closest anyone has come to what the term 'techstep' should be. Utterly synthetic basslines and kick drums provide an alien environment. Meanwhile, the beats are far removed from mechanical-sounding, two-step. The nine tracks on here each employ a variety of rhythms and have a different flavour. These range from the downtempo feel of Modular Circle to the lurking darkness of Cybernetic Future and psychosis of Mord Modular. It's not as banging as some of Position Chrome stuff, but it's more intricate than any drum'n'bass release I've heard in a long while.
