Jimmy Eat World – Futures

Idk what kind of Vinyl audiophile Sorcery SRC was casting in the mid 2000's but both all their Jimmy Eat World and Blink pressings are far and above better than any other release and it's not even close.

Question, does this release come shrink wrapped like the other releases? I bought this version supposedly mint and brand new, still sealed, but it wasn't in shrink wrap. Just a reusable plastic sleeve... Was I ripped off?

This really needs a reissue, the blue versions is way too expensive, and nobody is selling this one :(

A Superb sounding pressing. Really decent Stereo Separation and definition. Very clear punchy audio that is well mastered for vinyl.
The records come in a nice Trifold jacket and in meshed inside sleeves inside cardboard sleeves.
Really surprised given it took 7 years for this release to appear on discogs. Could be a reissue for 2022/2023?

Beat Goes On had a copy of this! So happy to get a very good pressing of this. Great dynamics, and the guitars are crisp. They hold back a little bit on the bass but it does really pop in many of the tracks! Also amazing presentation

There has been a repress floating around, but after going through two copies now, they've both come with two C/D discs and no A/B disc. Check yours out if you've bought it from a record store recently.

Just picked this up. It sounds fabulous and I’m hearing more ear candy than I have before. Lows are bold, strings and keys are dynamic, Vocals and harmonies are clear and present.

I have to say I think this is an excellent pressing. Maybe I’m just lucky and got a good copy but I have no issues at all with mine. Flat, sounds warm and well mixed/mastered, punchy and dynamic. I’m no audiophile by any means, but to my ears this sounds excellent.

After touring for two years in support of their platinum selling major label debut, Bleed American, Jimmy Eat World started working on their follow-up, Futures. Intended to be an ambitious, sprawling album and closer to Clarity than Bleed American, Jimmy Eat World had almost finished recording when they had a falling out with their producer. The band re-grouped with a new producer and tracked multiple versions of each song, enjoying being back home in Arizona rather than California. The result, Futures, is a major accomplishment for the band and a step forward in both song writing and production. Personally, this is one of my favorite albums, ever. Unfortunately, this pressing leaves much to be desired. It is VERY flat, and while well balanced, lacks any real dynamics or punch. Although the vinyl is generally quiet, it is a very uninspiring presentation of a great album. There are rumors that the Made in EU version is better than the one I have (GER) and I hope to check out an EU version to compare.
