Compare it to other 93' albums like Dimension Intrusion, Bytes, A Collection of Short Stories, Young American Primitive, Surfing on Sine Waves just for example, for me it is fairly shallow.
I know I'll cop hate for that statement however for me who was deep in the electronic world from the early 80ies til now its one band that have never lived up to the hype, not even close. A few good tracks over a long career but meh. - Repress/reissue effectively announced via Orbital's Instagram account: "ALERT - Brown Album....as you probably know, we included fan art in the Brown album artwork in 1993. Did we include yours? Did you miss out? Would you like to be included in the reissue? Please enter whatever takes your fancy, inspired by the Brown album, by 27th November to be in with the chance to be included!"

I've got a copy of this and mine sounds ok too - bought it online years back so didn't realise it was dodgy unti I saw it (cheapo sleeve, no runout text etc.) but sound wise don't think you'd spot it as a bootleg unless someone told you- For home listening it does have its charm, it’s a bit more low fi, kind of feels like finding it on cassette or something and, hey, less times to get up and change the record! But yeah it’s got nowhere near the strength it should, I wouldn’t want to dj with it, but to put on and get swept away, it’ll do the trick.

Was this album ever released as a remaster? It deserves it!referencing Orbital (CD, Album) TRUCD2
Represses coming in 2023- Then we’ll start a series of reissuing each album properly. I’m not sure what extras we’ll include yet, but tracks like the nine-minute Untitled, which was only ever on the cassette version of our first album, will find its way onto vinyl.”referencing Orbital (CD, Album) TRUCD2
One of my top albums of all time - BUT - give me the cassette track listing every time. It has to be that.referencing Orbital (2×LP, Album, Unofficial Release) TRULP2
The pressing is actually quite decent. There is some crackling at A1 which is irrelevant since this is a nonsense track anyway. Otherwise, I don't have any issues with my copy.- Sounds fantastic. Beautifully mastered. Perfect and clean thump with balanced and pronounced synths, loops and samples. Some of the tracks really benefit from being played at a lower pitch / bpm that vinyl allows. Makes the quality of the equipment and synths that were used in the making of this album really shine through. Although considered underground at the time, guess it never hurt to have major label backing. Pure quality recording and vinyl release.
- Any clue how this sounds? Surely the levels must've been taken down to fit it on one disc, but how does it sound if you adjust your gain?
