Robert Fripp – Let The Power Fall

Just a warning to the buyers… the first minute of 1987 is plagued by 7-10 nasty dropouts in the master file.

Bit noisy (pops and few clicks) - especially the inner groves. But sounds great.

Unsure this is actually a different pressing than the 2022 Europe reissue listing. Doubt it, but don’t have confirmation on that.

If you are into drone, ambient, conscious expanding music or just a guitar nerd this really is a must. One of the best random purchases I've come across ( only thinking "hey that's the guitarist from king crimson") and sounds great on wax. This is a sleeper for any true head. Just buy it.

i love Frippertronics! i saw Fripp perform 3 different times during the '90's at the Theater of the Living Arts(TLA) in Philadelphia.each concert was outstanding(exceptionally good sound system there,too).the best was the last concert i saw,it was a League of Crafty Guitarists show..as a finale,Fripp did a scorching Frippertronics song that continued on for several minutes AFTER all of the performers had lined up on stage and filed off through the backstage exit.they all returned shortly,through the main auditorium entrance,walked down past the audience members and lined back up on stage,again(the music was still going,mind you!).after all of the Crafty Guitarist performers had walked off stage~the music just suddenly cut-off.Fripp was standing there alone on stage.there was a short moment of dead silence..then a roar of applause/standing ovation! it was a blast!!:)

This LP blew my mind at its date of release in 1981 and it still touches me after all this years. This (for me) is perfection and beauty in the purest form !
Great words I know, but others wouldn`t do justice to this.
Everytime I`m listing to it, I`m discovering new elements, tones and little nuances. This music is (still) so inspiring and refreshing that its hard to believe that it was recorded 25 years ago.
As it`s written on the sleeve this record begins where "God Save The Queen" ended and it was recorded on Fripp`s small Frippertronics tour of restaurants, record shops, museums etc. in 1979. Probably improvised (I never saw him live) this LP gives an impression of how far Fripp developed his guitar/loop technique.
As it is scratched in the vinyl of his "Exposure" LP: 1981 is the year of the Fripp.
And that it was !!
