Martin Courtney – Many Moons

Amazing album! One of the best guitar pop records ever released, in my opinion. Such a soothing listening experience too. Visually, the vinyl is perfect: flat and shiny. The pressing is very, very good.

Terrible pressing. Off center label, bumps, and scuffs make this record unplayable.

The scuffs/warp/skipping on this pressing is pretty widespread, so buyer beware. I found that increasing my record player's VTF to my cartridge's limit (in my case, it was 1.9, but your's could be different, check your manufacturer's recommended setting) helped to mitigate the skipping. Now this record plays without fault. QC on this pressing was pretty poor.

I have the same problem, saturation and distorsion on some tracks... maybe a pressing default, or a bad vinyl mastering from the engineer. Pity, but very great composition, record and mix anyway!

great record, but mine came with defects, returned it to the store, got a new one which had the same problem.

Killer frickin album. Godamn excellent.

Perfect Record

I was very excited about this album and ordered it on Domino as soon as I could. My first copy had a pressing issue - a sizeable scuff on side B that makes a loud pop from the second half of "Many Moons" into the first half of "Asleep". I contacted Domino and they were kind enough to send me a replacement at zero cost to me. That copy has the exact same issue!

The music is great and I appreciated Domino's customer service, but in the modern world of vinyl-buying, these pressing issues are all too common. I know I could have gone for the standard edition, but like many other fans I was swept up in the special! limited! craze.
