Notes

Recording sessions for this album started in summer 1980 at Finston Manor in Tenteron (28 June) and Super Bear Studios in Berre.les-Alpes (16 July) and continued at Finston Manor in Tenteron (from 2 to 25 October 1980), AIR Studios in London (from 27 October to 3 November and on 8 and 9 December 1980), AIR Studios in Montserrat (from 2 February to 3 March 1981) and Rude Studios in Campbeltown (from August to December 1981). 'Tug Of War' was released on 19 April 1982 in UK and on 26 April 1982 in the US.

personally i like the 60's and 70's Macca more, but this is a good album. I have a VG+ /NM copy, this press sounds amazing! really good job

A strong & fine effort of polished 80’s studio pop & well-crafted Macca music trying to recapture past magic. Lots of nice “Yesterday/Blackbird-style” acoustic picking & harmonies.
Production wizardry from George Martin & engineer Geoff Emerick & musical assistance from notable contemporary musician/performers but don’t expect Beatles baroque extravagance – that was a one off.
One of his better solo outings. All in all, a smoothly enjoyable listen.

Picked up a used copy last week and very impressed with the sound. Surprisingly for an Optimal pressing, the disc is perfectly flat too. Very happy with this pressing.

Absolutely perfect sounding pressing. The cover and it's complementary OBI look stunning and the record sounds crisp, clear and very melodic. Honestly, it's as close as a normal pressing will get to an Audiophile pressing. Really beautiful mix.

a truly beautiful and somehow underrated (Even with the hits) Macca masterpiece. Every song is better than the last. Even the really lesser know songs are incredible (Get It, The Pound Is Sinking, Ballroom Dancing). Wish Paul would play more of these songs in his live set (Here Today rightfully is the one that gets the nod) but imagine Paul doing "What's That You're Doing?" with his live band, ELECTRIC.
