One of the best voices of the 70s tragically cut short in his prime.
Doesn't Matter Anyhow was in the Top 10 in Honolulu in early 78
when the shocking news of his death made headlines in the State.referencing Billy Kaui (LP) LP6522
Superb smooth jazzy yacht rock vibe. An amazing record. Essential.referencing Billy Kaui (LP) LP6522
This is the ultimate Billy Kaui.
Billy Kaui was one of the original members of Country Comfort.
He eventually went solo with this recording in December of 1977.
He was on the verge of what would almost certainly have been an
impressive second career as a versatile pop vocalist & composer
with huge national potential.
His unique voice has been compared to that of Boz Scaggs.
He tragically died of a brain hemorrhage at age 28, just three months
after this solo release. Who knows what might have been.
This is a classic! Soft & jazzy – a great recording!
