Midnight's Rendition of Daytime's Recordings

Remix albums come and go. There's been a resurgence of them lately, but for some reason, whether the chemistry between the original artist and the ones doing the covering aren't clicking, or if it was rushed to production, they're usually fairly forgettable. But there's good news: like all of Tycho's other albums in his growing discography, Awake Remixes is one you'll come back to over and over and over again. Unlike his other albums, however, this one has a much different and very exciting flow weaved into it.

Leave it up to Tycho to create soothing tracks you listen to doing practically anything, then go even farther by grouping with other artists to build onto his already awesome music collection with a sharper rendition of 'Awake'. If the original 'Awake' is the sunset, relaxing, controlled soundtrack to close out a busy day, these remixes are the nighttime, impulsive, naughty versions as seen through other respected electronic artists in the same realm as Tycho, the most familiar of these being RJD2 and Com Truise.

If you've always admired Tycho's music, this is a must have to add to your collection, with a number of them you'll immediately throw in your favorite playlist. I hope this isn't the last time Tycho decides to do this with one of his albums, because I could get used to these.

Great collection of remixes! This type of release can be so hit and miss, but I can honestly say there isn't a single track on here that I dislike.

Blue vinyl pressing sounds pretty good, and it looks gorgeous!

Good stuff. Packaging is amazing. Favorites are A1, A4, and B3
Edit: pressing quality is ok. Mine came with a skip in the Christopher Willits remix though

Reasonably good pressing. The wax is quiet on most places but does have the occasional fuzz or slight audible click, which is probably true with the majority of albums. I enjoy most of these tracks greatly, they certainly expand upon or improve the sounds of Tycho, but I must say, the Com Truise and Bibio remixes are truly the highlights of the album.
