Notes
"What Can You Do For Me" is the group's first single, and also found on the album Utah Saints.
It contains the following samples:
1. Opening ad-libs ("do-da-do-da...") taken from Eurythmics - There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart).
2. Crowd cheering and line "You wanted the best and you've got the best, the hottest band in the world" taken from the opening of Kiss - Alive II.
3. Title vocal "What can you do for me" taken from Gwen Guthrie - Ain't Nothin' Goin' On But The Rent.
4. Vocal snippets "I need someone" and "I need you" (twice) taken from "I Need You", as heard on the album Eurythmics - Savage.
5. Some of the Morales mixes also contain a resung line from Queen - Don't Stop Me Now (usually before the title vocal kicks in).

- Picked this up with a lot of other records. I had passed on this back in the day because of the over commercialization of the original release. The David Morales Klub Mix has his signature sound from that time and holds up surprisingly well IMO. The real gem though is A Trance For The Saints mix. Despite having trance in it's name this is a nice down tempo mix.
- The day i bought this on white label , i was told - '' this is the new Hardcore Uproar'' - The Dj played it and within 20 mins had sold the entire 20 copies the shop had. I still own the whites of this and Something Good to this day.
- Orange Spangles is what I'd call it.
Mine looks mint and has a photocopied press release sheet.
They will all be kinda random looking. referencing What Can You Do For Me (12", 33 ⅓ RPM) 857 103-1
Decent mixes on the a-side by Morales, but for the definitive version you need to search for his "Madness Mix" which is not featured here.
The cheapest way to get it is on the UK 12" single of Believe In Me (or What Can You Do For Me (David Morales Remixes) if you're in North America).
B1 is a surefire winner for fans of Garage House, but that's not my thing.- Intro sample: " You wanted the best, you got the best, the Hottest band in the World..." is trademark opening of live shows by Kiss.
(yes, the blood spitting, tongue twisting rockers..) - Edited 4 years agoThe "Klub Mix" is a little known house music gem. Over 10 minutes of old-school, soulful house music that sounds nothing like Utah Saints. A true sleeper track from that era.

B1 contains added lyrics and vocals by the legendary garage music vocalist herself, Gwen Guthrie. She's featured here as a guest vocalist by surprise. Sounds almost like a remix to the original garage classic where the sample is taken from (Ain't Nothing Going On But The Rent).- Edited 7 years agoOne of the big 90's club tunes, sample fueled madness that just rocked dance floors back in its day.
- The main tune, "What can you for me?" has always been a solid tune, even though it now sounds extremely slow with age. The B side is a very nice little tune, in a very unexpected style from Utah Saints. A little bit of a gem for any oldskool lover of this vintage, in my opinion. I can't tell whether my copy is red or brown vinyl - it is somewhere in between.
