2nd Album revolution #10: Oooohhhhh Yes!!!!!!! Now this is more like it!!!!! "Phase One" left a very dry taste in my mouth, and even though it was an experimental album, it just didn't or couldn't make the cut for a Prince album.... "Phase Two" should have been "Phase One" in my opinion...The mastery of this album fits right after "Art Official Age". Even thought some of the songs were already released as singles (such as "RocknRoll Love Affair", "Groovy Potential", "Screwdriver", etc.) they positively fit with the newer songs. What really works here is that you can tell that Prince is the main producer, leaving all of those overly dubbed-out beats alone, and got right back to being "Mr. Musicianship" (even though some of those beats did work on "AOA"). "Stare" is hands down as Prince sounding as it gets, with songs like "Black Muse" and "Big City" being perfect fits to the album. My favorite on here is (The Crown Jewel) "Revelation". That song really takes me back to when Prince produced some of the best slow songs in history. Ok, I admit it, I am very partial to live instrumentation. It's because of that reason that this album is a much better effort from the man we have come to expect great music from.....This still kills me, because he released this right before his untimely death....It's been years, but it still effects me very deeply...It was "Prince" and "Maurice White" from "Earth, Wind & Fire" who truly inspired me to want to pursue music...So even though the "Music Business" itself soured me, artist like "Prince" continued to keep my love for music strong!!!!! I really miss him!!! I know I never knew him personally, but my wife explained because I made such a connection to his music, that I knew him....Even with his passing though, the 2nd Album Revolution is still on!!!!!!! (PS: Estate, please release this on Vinyl!!!!!!!)

An exciting last release from Prince. Some new / some old like the previous disc Phase One features songs that he released previously on the internet (Rock and Roll Love Affair, Baltimore, Screwdriver, Stare...) and a few new tracks 2.Y.2.D. and Black Muse for example. Here, Prince gives us more analog tunes with live instrumentation and thought provoking creations than the electronic pop offerings in Phase One. Stare, Black Muse and Screwdriver sound fresh and inspired. A glimpse into where he may have been going in the future. He ended on a good note. There's really not a bad tune on this record.

Tickets for the Piano and a Microphone concerts here in Melbourne in 2016 cost $400 a pop! Fixed. This CD was given to all concert goers upon arrival. He did fours shows over two nights. Theater is 2000 capacity. That's 8000 CDs handed out over the course of 48 hours in Melbourne.

Both discs are off-center on my copy. Doesn't really matter as the album is pretty shyte to begin with.

I have both phase one & two on vinyl. Every other side was pressed off center, and mastered with too much compression. Mediocre pressing at best.

As for the music, it is better than Phase One, but still not good enough for me.

So I received this as a gift, expecting it was an official release but as it turns out it is not. Who is this Prince Records Inc? This does not seem to be sanctioned by Prince/ NPG. Is this basically a forgery/ bootleg?

Phase two clear vinyl sounds excellent as well - quiet pressing too

Sound quality is excellent. Vinyl is a nice, heavy weight. Definitely recommend!

The sound on HitnRun phase one is excellent. Pressing is good as well.

I have ordered the clear vinyl copy of phase two. hopefully it will be the same sound quality.
