GoGo Penguin – Man Made Object

Good music, very disappointed by the quality of the pressing. One disc is severely warped.

very disappointing about this pressing, warping, clicking, no soundstage, now I am unhappy…

edit: cleaning and playing a few times helps to improve listening experience highly, now it is acceptable.

Again bad pressing by GZ. Side 3 noticeable (piano!) off centered.

Another great album from the Manchester greats. Bill Evans meets Ultramarine? Aphex twin meets Eric Dolphy? Not really. Just a fusion of ideas and styles and love of musics....like all the music we treasure.

Pretty good press, quiet and crackle free for the most. My copy is pressed a little off centre on the first side, but to no real noticeable effect. Music is great. Will certainly appeal to those who have come from a drum’n’bass background. Lovely breaks and euphoric melodies with twisting baselines.

Anyone able to supply matrix/ pressing info on this one, please?

A magnificent architecture of contemporary ‪jazz‬ (not jazz) album, full of emotive compositions that at once seems the piano follows the fast (heart)beatin’ rhythm of Rob Turner drums and then Chris Illingworth crystal clear strings followed by them. Somewhere in the middle of this Riots and calmness comes the bassist Nick Blacka to keep the things in balance like a Titan who holds the world. The midtempo of ‘’Branches Break’’ and dance attitude of ‘Smarra’’ are extracts from the most modern ‪electronic‬ album of the year… But then you realize that is just objects of the freedom of jazz than no any other music field can offer…
