What a fantastic techno-based ambient album that holds up great 21 years on from its release. It has a particular quality that really drives the music forward in a manner that feels melodic yet almost scientific in a way (perhaps the Ultimae album art is influencing me more than the music itself there). This is well demonstrated on tracks like Undertow. Shame that these discs are so hard to come by these days. Perfect music for a rainy day to reflect on times gone past and the future to come, or to take the high road and live in the moment - Season 5 permits it all.referencing Season 5 (CD, Album, Mixed) inre 007
We need a Vinyl release of this as well as Memory Shell.... actually we need ALL of Aes Dana's work on Vinyl. Ultimae have only released Vinyl editions starting with Aes Dana's 2012 album Pollen. Any albums before that have only CD editions.- Edited 17 years ago

Most of the albums I've heard in the so-called psychedelic chill out genre does dub reggae style, this release however approach dub with techno in mind. It's reminiscent of Basic Channel, but more colourful, varied and in-depth. It's five years since the record was put out now, but I still found it a very refreshing (and relaxing) listening experience when I got hold of it the other day. Highly recommended.
