- Managed to score this for £22 - the clear pressing of the Kicker Conspiracy double pack is outstanding but the white Totally Wired is a bit muffled and creaky as well as having the wrong version of "Putta Block" - the one with the echoed "every-ry-ry" ending rather than the longer version with the straight cut-off ending from the original 7". The other discs are fine. Amazed BMG thought they were going to shift these at £50 a pop.
- My copy has “BC” labels (Container Drivers) on both sides of the fifth 45. Disc is pressed correctly with Container Drivers BBC on one side and New Puritan BBC on the other. Anyone else?
- Almost identical to the Superior Viaduct issue from 2018 of the Rough Trade Singles except that only costs 20 quid. 50 quid for this boxset, aye right then ;)
- Typical Fall reissue from SV. Pretty good for the most part. Packaging is minimal as per usual (including the yellow copy paper "liner notes.") My copy had scuffing from the paper innersleeve likely from shipping. Aside from that, another solid release. Not your typical exploitative Fall compilation. Pick this one up. These singles are ace!
- I love The Fall but I have no idea why this counts as electronic music! That said, this box set is beautifully packaged but has one major drawback. The version of "Container Drivers" (truly a masterpiece) is not the John Peel session version that appeared on the original vinyl release of Kicker Conspiracy. Apparently, Castle Communications wouldn't pay the BBC to licence it to them. Instead, the version is the one from the Grotesque LP. Please stay awake if you have read this far ....
