I’ve known this album since I was nine, in 1975 - my brothers were big EWF fans. Picked this up on Amazon UK for £8.97, shipped. What an absolute steal.

Yep i concur, this MOV repress is a winner. £20 for a double LP with both discs flat and quiet and this great live recording shining through is well worth paying for! If like to try the FRM KPG cut but this is great and 1/3rd the price jn the UK!

          Album Revolution #4:

After "Earth Wind & Fire" took the World by STORM with "That's The Way Of The World", "Columbia Records" was screaming for more...Not having the time to Record a complete album while on tour, "Maurice" & Co decided to tape some of the live shows, and create "Graditude"....

This was the first live album by "Earth, Wind & Fire", and it made me wish that I was there!!!!! That would have been impossible for I was only a mere 4 years old!!! But anyway, what a way to introduce your live shows!!!!! To me no one sounded better live than "Earth Wind & Fire" ("Maze" is the only other group)....

From start to finish, this is a very essential album....

It starts off with an Instrumental Medley of 2 Classics in "Africano" and "Power" (with power being the vocal point)....

Then live versions of "Yearnin' Learnin'" and "Shining Star" are almost as good as the Studio versions...

Remember I told you about the Live version of "Devotion"? Well, here it is, with its perfect crowd interaction..

There was also the Live version of "Reasons", with "Phillip Bailey" just SHOWING OFF (not even fair!!!!!), accompanied by a STUNNING Saxophone performance by "Don Myrick"....

The next 2 Instrumentals are Ultimate Crown Jewels....

"Sun Goddess" (the song they gifted to "Ramsey Lewis") sounds almost better than the original....

"New World Symphony"...Now that one right there I can't even describe to you all...The Music takes you to far out places!!!! I was straight up speechless when I first heard it!!!!

The only issue I have with the live material is "Sing A Message To You"...It is actually part of a Medley with "Kalimba Story"....Seriously, it should had been on here in it's entirety!!!!

After you finish sweating though the live material, then comes the in Studio stuff....

"Sing A Song" (Crown Jewel) is an outright "EWF" Classic...

The "Title Track" and "Celebrate" are "Funk" workouts...

"Sunshine" is the constant staple "Philip Bailey" performance...

Then there is the Ultimate Ultimate Crown Jewel, "Can't Hide Love".....I know that "Creative Source" did it first, but you would think that the group came up with it first...

All in all, this album was a stamp on the fact that the group has made it...It took a little time, but by then, EVERYTHING that "Maurice" & Co. envisioned was coming to pass.....Like I said, makes you wish you were there!!!!

PS: 7/5/2024.....I know I USUALLY go there, but because this was ALREADY a 2 LP album, I'm not really going to suggest a Re-Issue with extra Tracks...

I say that though, because in 1999, "Sony/Legacy" released a CD Reissue of the album, which included a Medley:

"Live Bonus Medley" (a. "Serpentine Fire", b. "Saturday Night", c. "Can't Hide Love", & d. "Reasons")....

This was ACUTALLY performed on a 1978 TV Variety Special starring "Natalie Cole" on February 11, 1978 at Hollywood Sunset Sound Recorders....So having it here is kind of out of place!!!!!! Now, in my opinion, because "Serpentine Fire" was part of the Performance, I would include it on a 2 LP Re-Issue for "All 'N" All".....Just Sayin'.....

All 4 sides of my release have "1A" at the end of every "33695". However, all other characteristics match the notes above. This is the closest version on Discogs that I found. Maybe some weird misprint? Hope this helps someone else.

Easily one of my fav live albums. As well this one is recorded so well, all instruments are clean and clear. My copy is original print all TML stamped bought in ‘76 at Tower Records. I was 12 yrs old!!
Cra cra that it still sounds amazing.

An iconic EWF album like 'Gratitude' deserves the best packaging, and Friday Music simply dropped the ball. The gatefold double album set was shipped in extremely loose plastic. The paper inner sleeves had side splits from the vinyl's movement during shipping.

I cleaned the 180 gram blue vinyl LPs to get rid of the surface noise, and things slightly improved. Soundstage was very good. Loved the bass & mids. Highs were ok.

A MAJOR problem is the abrupt ending of the 'Africano/Power' Medley, which is SUPPOSED to include a 15 second transition to the 'Yearnin Learnin' song. NOPE, the folks at Friday music failed to replicate what is on the original pressing & CD releases.

                4 stars!

I have this version, but the label on side 3 is blank. It's just the red label w/ Columbia around the edge. I can't find this anomaly mentioned anywhere on the internet. Can anyone tell me anything about an error like this?

It also says it is a US issue, yet, mysteriously, perhaps for this copy only, it was also "made and printed in Holland." Hmm? I request that the submitter please revise this listing for accuracy. Tnx.
