"Just That Type Of Girl" is the kind of track that would ashame most of electronica-experimental-click artists,
everything were here in this track + the groove !
"I Want Your Body" is closed to a Prince copy but with talent and it is as if we had one more prince gem...
This album is to recommend to all fans of Electro-Funk.

Often described as "the female Cameo" - Madame X's "Red On Black" album is nowadays indeed a hard record to find. Noted for a very dry funk production, sparse jamming and sometimes unusual instrumentation (there's a genuine, acoustic harp on the intro of the title track!), the sonic quality of the vocals somewhat foreshadows En Vogue. The single "Just That type Of Girl", alongside the B side opener "I Want Your Body" got the most air and clubplay at the time, but it's the brilliant title track, "Madame X" that's the highlight of this album. Ladies' funk par excellence - don't miss this if you find it.

The singing group Madame X was another great female artists
unit has one self titled album in 1987, that's worthy of purchase. It's one of these kind of artists you can really enjoy their work. Their music genre was R&B with a FUNK appeal and it is a disgrace that this group's CD is a hard to find also OUT OF PRINT, too! The group was produced by Bernadette Cooper [the Founder and Drummer of Klymaxxx fame]. If you want the album or CD, you'll have to keep up within the loop in the Net to find out where the auctions or whatever to get the goods. Now I'm the OWNER of the CD,and it's worth every cent getting it!!!
