I don't see how this is remotely Goth Rock (in any of its many forms); rather, it's Symphonic Rock and/or Progressive Metal. It's not even Goth Metal. I believe that it's nothing Goth at all.

Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon, Star One) discovered singer Marcela for his album The Human Equation (2004). He was convinced of the talent of the Mexican and gave her a forum with the band Stream of Passion he came up with in the following year.

The songs deal with yearning, passion, and pain. Bovio's varied voice expresses those emotions in a convincing way - sometimes fragile, sometimes quick-tempered: goose pimples are guaranteed. The other band members, among them Arjen Lucassen himself, are playing a fresh mix of metal gothic and progressive rock; strings and piano are creating an intimate mood. Here not only Ayreon fans get their money's worth.

Embrace The Storm ist also available as special edition in slipcase with bonus DVD. The DVD features a detailed Making of and demo versions of all album tracks. (InsideOut)
