Huge tune back in its day - crafted from a great selection of samples to make one monster track !
Peak-time club track if every there was one, Goodman "Give It Up" drum loops, siren screaming over the top, raise your hands vocal, then drops the what sounds like a cut up version of the CLS "Can You Feel It" synth loop to top it all off ! Great fun track, that rocked many a club.

This started its life as a laidback groover in its Love and Seduction mixes, with pleasant vocals of Cynthia Seijo and Marlo Bennett (the difference in both versions is the lyrics used). The flipside of the original SR12177 featured a harder edged remix with vocals by Althea McQueen, carefully reduced to the title and a repetitive "In my hooooouse!!!". It was this version that received the most attention outside the U.S. (somehow, the A-side was a bit too laidback for European clubs).

A new chapter was written when the More/Phearce remix was updated on SR12212 with fragments of two other "Strictlies" (obviously after X Press 2 sampled one of them for their underground hit "London X-Press"...) and a drumbreak by the Good Men. This became the ultimate version, and a special 4 minute edit was made in the Netherlands in order to get the song on the radio and commercial compilations. Although the tune deserved to be a hit, it failed to chart.

This CD maxi single was another of my cost-effective purchases those days as it contains the content of both original U.S. vinyls as well as the radio version. Only the beats were missing, but I remember myself extracting them out of the More/Phearce mix and creating a tape loop out of them... one had to find creative solutions in lack of a sampler...:)

Good and sweet voice of Cynthia Seijo made the “House of Love” more attractive in my opinion. Without her, this single become a total FLOP for garage lovers listeners. Unfortunately I do not know others works with marvelous voice of her.

Could somebody tell me where ´s Cynthia Seijo have been???

I've always preferred the Love Mix, it's more a vocal Garage vibe. I remember hearing this particular mix at an underground club in Los Angeles called 'The Meat Locker' in 94'-95'. They only played Vocal and Garage tracks there. It was the best...!

This is the culminating remix of 'House Of Love' by Anthony Acid. I always wondered how Cynthia Seijo felt when her vocal version was dismissed by the crowds in favor of this groundbreaking anthem.
Aficionados will recognize the famous tribal sample taken out of 'Give It Up' by The Goodmen.
If you are very strong, you will be able to listen (and dance) to the full 8:45 repetitive mix. Personally, I prefer the edit made out of it, available on several Strictly Rhythm compilations.
Anyway, don't forget to 'Raise your hands'...

What an interesting release from Erick Morillo. In fact, everybody knows this release for the "Raise Your Hands In My House REMIX" release a bit later. BUT this reference features the original mixes, and especially unbelievable garage mixes (Seduction Mix & Love Mix), happy and sweet with e-piano, sax (sounds like "I Cant Get No Sleep") and pumping rhythm like Morillo knows how to do ! I recommend you these mixes , and for those who prefer club tracks, on the B side, the "More Phearce Mix" is a very good club track maybe better than the "Raise Your Hands In My House REMIX" with acid sounds. A MUST HAVE !

An odd mish-mash of a record, featuring the riff from CLS - "Can You Feel It" (Strictly Rhythm) - plus that drum loop used by the Goodmen as well as... ahem... Simply Red in "Fairground."

If you've got the CLS track you can certainly have fun with the two anyway... ;O)
