This song is firmly rooted in the big band sound of the late 40s and the start of the rock 'n' roll era of the early 50s. First appearing on 10" shellac in 1952 which played at 78rpm, this version plays at 45rpm and was released in 1960. One of my all time favourite songs, it's already rare on vinyl as you would expect for a 1960 recording. Most copies these days are either VG or VG+, so my NM copy is highly treasured.....what a song, beautifully sung by a very talented artist. It's an old cliche I know, but they really don't make them like this any more.......
