Duran Duran ‎– Hungry Like The Wolf

This pressing is a test pressing for the 1983 reissue of the 12".

Having a generic EMI (Irl) sleeve means very little - a disc can be slipped into any sleeve! However, this one has the double-dip favoured by Carlton and the giveaway (P) rather than ℗

My copy is plain black card sleeve w/ die cut center holes. Not picture sleeve.

Also issued is a single sided test pressing 12" for 'Hungry like the wolf' with a lime green label which came in a generic EMI plain sleeve which is date stamped '29 APR 1982' Numbers written on the cover above the date: 12 EMI 5295A2 and PSLP 356 1* A 1*. * These may be ' ' as with the B label TP (see below) but are looking like '1s' !
It came with the blue label single sided test pressing of 'Careless memories' which was also in a generic EMI cover and also date stamped 28 APR 1982. The 2 were stapled together.Numbers on the 2nd disc: 12 EMI 5295 B1 and PSLP 365 'B'

I'm not sure who started this whole "Hungry Like The Wolf B.P.M." nonsense, but there is only ONE "Night Version" of the song and that is the one done by David Kershenbaum. The "differences" are merely by-products of the original source material used which involves the mastering speed, the fade-out times and the applied equalization / compression / limiting of the 2-track master tape itself - there are no other remixes of this version. Period!
