MT has been open since 1996, and is only store in Amherst. It's a benevolent entity that embraces the whole spectrum. we are always buying and pay better than most stores, we are a mom and pop store, and our instore events are memorable and legendary. Come and say hi, or get in touch about shows or special orders. We focus on folk/jazz/underground/classic rock/weird/lps/cds/tapes/dvds.... but have all sorts of other stuff. ask us about the time Lighting Bolt did a early show here or about the 100s of other acts who played. lately we have shows outside in front of the store. We have our own label and also carry local and import stuff too. western mass is a great and unique place for music, and we have loved it here. thanks to all our customers and friends and bands (and to discogs!) who have helped us / and continue helping us /stay open! music is a important /healing force and helping to get music out there is important. its been great to be a small part of the way people get music.
