East West Records started in Orlando, Florida in 1971 with two young entrepreneurs who moved here from California and opened a record store “because nobody told us we couldn’t.” The original proprietors retired in 2018, and current owner-operator Emma Serros is the only woman to hold such a position in Orlando.

Through the decades, the shop has persevered, weathering the changing popularity of artists and recording mediums as well as numerous historical events, most recently the pandemic. Last year, East West celebrated its 50th anniversary, and enjoys the distinction of being the oldest record store in Florida.

In roughly 800 square feet of space, the building manages to hold LP’s, CD’s, DVD’s, cassette tapes, posters, t-shirts, music books, and various odd bit bits of memorabilia spanning the years: buttons, stickers, guitar picks, and the like. Today, East West continues in its mission of bringing music to all. We also offer shipping nationwide.
