Out Of Joint open in the summer of 2018 in Leicester after a year of slowly getting frustrated over having to always buy our records online or travelling out of our own city to buy them. Leicester has always had a strong heritage of record shops but over the last 15 years all bar one of them had shut down and we wanted to try to re-energise the record shop culture.

A small unit with cheap rent was found, we fitted it out ourselves and then using the best distributors and searching for second hand collections we filled the record bins.

We don't sell any filler, all the records are chosen with our own tastes in mind and we don't buy in anything that we wouldn't play at home ourselves.

Upstairs we run a small screen printing operation, making our own shop t-shirts as well as taking on small run clients. Our portfolio is slowly growing with clients from the local scene as well as more internationally known brands.
