- Brilliant Korean reissue. Sounds fantastic to me; the presentation with the inserts is a treat. Recently I obtained a second copy of this one, but since I didn't need two copies of the same CD, I wanted to put one up for sale, only to discover that Discogs had blocked it. And then to know that I bought my first copy right here on Discogs. Maybe I can sell it at a local record fair, but still I would have preferred to do it on Discogs.
- Edited one year agoI don't know if this is an official release or if this is a bootleg and I don't care! What I do know is that my copy sounds wonderful. The sound is crystal clear, the artwork is excellent and the bonus tracks are wonderful. What more could I ask for? I have spent a small fortune purchasing 3 "Mint" or "Near Mint" copies of the LP and have yet to acquire any LP version that sounds as good as this CD! People can quibble all day long about where the mastering came from but the bottom line is I can listen to it without surface noise or the occasional ticks and pops and it sounds great! For me that's all that matters.
Update: This is a response to "Ivoguy's" reply. So you admit to owning the bootleg "but never played it". So how would you know that your LP is "more interesting and nuanced and has more space" than a bootleg you never listened to? And how would you know if your LP is better than this CD that you don't appear to own? I agree that an original mint LP of this recording would sound great on a proper setup but good luck finding one! If you do be prepared to mortgage your house to pay for it. There is no evidence that this CD is the original bootleg. It sounds great and the bonus tracks are wonderful. - All you have to do is look at the disc to see it is a bootleg. Bootleggers can use names of real labels. This should not be for sale here.
- This and the later Japanese CD issue from Big Pink are unashamed bootlegs. They are not sourced from the master tape, they are sourced from a well distributed online bootleg by DLedin and Galemark.
For those seeking a genuine CD quality version of this album, I suggest you seek the master tape rip that leaked from Lotus Mastering in 2013, who were tasked with creating a CD/digital release of the album for its anniversary, but ultimately suffered from Buckingham/Nicks arguments over the release.
