A sparkling treasure from the magnetic vaults. The melody line of "Brazilian Rhyme" which Philip Bailey sings is interesting and reminds me of the song "Beijo Partido"("Broken Kiss"), written by Toninho Horta. "Beijo Partido" was released back then in 1975 by Milton Nascimento, and in the following years by a number of other artists (Flora Purim, Norman Connors, Tamba Trio, on Toninho's debut release, etc). The orchestra and string arrangements on E,W&F's track sound wonderful and lush, possibly arranged by Tom Tom 84 and conducted by concertmaster Janice Gower, who both worked on the studio sessions of the "All 'n All" release by the mighty elements. Great that this hidden groove has been unleashed!
I'm sure there is this version of Brazilian Rhyme in 12'' that ends at approximately 4:54. Can anyone tell me which album it was published from? That apart from the edited versions
Oooh these sweet vocal harmonies are heavenly, put this on in your headphones and close your eyes and you will be whisked away from a gray and rainy Saturday afternoon to the lush, sun-dappled tropical beaches of Rio de Janeiro where you can wear your g-string thong with pride, and no-one bats so much as an eyelid!! :-D
Seems to be for the 3rd time out of stock ... and again, some guys sell it with big prices without any reason ! I'm fine cause i catched a copy few days ago from distributor ! Both gems are fantastic , but " Brazilian Rhyme " is on the TOP forever !
