This finally had its UK release as a 45 on the Friers Label doing a realistic "take" on the USA UA label even with a LH die-cut the added bonus is that this UK limited edition 45 is Stereo!!!!!! Find and enjoy and save a few bob over a dull mono USA release!

Just an up-date thought, It begger's belief and beyond all logic that this did not get a UK release (via EMI) yet has now shown up nearly 40+ years later on two EMI-$tateside compilations a budget taster and a double compilation for yet another $tateside re-launch, this time under the umbrella of Capitol, no doubt because Capitol Inc legally acquired United Artists through loan default.

Definitely missed out either as a UA or $tateside 45 here in the UK would sit proudly on the shelf along side "Shout" RCA Tri Centre and "Twist And Shout" $tateside 4pin dinked and that's a fact!

The faultless and so smooth and soulful original interpretation of "That Lady" it is as good as anything "the boys" have done and is a vital and important part of their discography/port folio.

If you love the Isleys then you will love this, if you love great soul then you will be full of gratitude!

PS. Their 1973 re-interpretation via T-Neck (UK Epic) in it's full funk majesty as "That Lady" just would not have happened with out WHO's That Lady. It doesn't surpass it, it enhances and gives credit, the guitar of Ernie takes over from the deep brass you can not but just love them both! The shock ending of the latter is just so there and right, on the 3+3 album the track is cut very tight timewise and goes straight into "Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight" (another Isley hair raiser). If you are playing "That Lady" in it's 7" B side or full 12" form it sounds odd not having the 4 opening notes come at ya! Be aware that on one of the UK CBS-Epic 12" single pressings the cutting enginer gave "That Lady" an early false fade, and it totally spoils the whole gutsy funk chugger and completely ruins it.
