- Edited 5 years agoSurprised to find the LP versions of World Clique do not include the Deee-Lite Theme song! I was heartbroken.... But then that faded and I was happy to be listening to the rest of the album. I wonder who made the decision to axe intro song from the LP version, and why? I can only guess it would be a consideration of total length of each side, since side 1 has longer songs on it, but it was definitely possible to include it. At any rate, the album for me absolutely starts with the Deee-Lite Theme Song, and not Good Beat. It's like trying to listen to TMBG's Flood album with 'Theme From Flood' removed (another classic from 1990).
- Edited 7 years agoAt the turn of the decade, in the year 1990, "World Clique" was one damn great cocktail - drink it once, the taste remains. Sadly, Deee-lite continue to slightly suffer ever since, due to a one-hit wonder episode being "Groove Is In the Heart" - and while you just can't get enough of the bastard, remember there are 9 (or 11, if you prefer the CD) delicacies more. A truly slick mixture of hip-hop, soul (Lady Miss Kier's vocal stylings are downright superb!), house and techno, marking a rock solid record that will continue to last. Try it on, it's very you.
