Reviews
- From Animal Collective's AMA thread on r/indieheads: "HI, we actually just started getting rights back to a lot of the back catalog and we're going to figure out a system where we can just print them up on vinyl ourselves with help of our distributor. However that is not cheap, and usually there needs to be some sort of demand to justify the up front costs." I think Person Pitch has plenty of demand already. (And they just need to choose a good pressing plant this time)
- Found one at amoeba for $10, really nice condition
Don't give in to these hyper-inflated prices, keep looking around store to store and you'll find one for a reasonable price - The music per se is great. Vinyl quality is poor. Side A & B is acceptable, side C & (especially) D is next to unlistenable.
- Wonder when they're gonna reissue it. I have a particularly bad copy (side D is so awfully off-centered Ponytail sounds like everything's drunk) and everyone's selling at these horrible prices.
- Great album, but presented poorly with this release.
Despite being 45 minutes long, because of the song lengths the album is split across 4 sides. With the shortest side being under 10 minutes there's a lot of getting up and down to cue up the next track. The packaging is disappointing, there is a nice insert with artwork and acknowledgements but this is crammed into a single sleeve along with the two LPs. This makes it hard to get the records in and out and has meant the outline of the discs is now embossed on the sleeve of my copy.
Also worth noting the song order is also slightly different to the CD release with "I'm Not" and "Good Girl/Carrots" switched. - Great album put together in decent enough, no frills packaging for this LP. Two nice heavy records packaged in a single "double wide" sleeve. Comes with a pretty cheap little folded insert with artwork and thank you's. Over all nothing spectacular but it sounds great and the music here speaks for itself.
