A little piece of trivia: Under City Rave was recorded, and subsequently became the anthem for Zagreb's first massive scale rave party, called under city rave, and held on October 30th 1993 at a place called Tunel Gric. It is an underground network of tunnels which served as Yugoslavia's former president Tito's nuclear hide out shelter.
Up to then, rave parties were held in small basements and clubs such as Gjuro 2 (used as an air raid shelter), Kset (a small club run by students which is still alive and kicking to this day!!!) and ocasionally at Klub 88.
No more than 1000 people were expected, but over 3000 enthusiastic party goers showed up and sent out positive messages and vibes nation wide, at a time when the only images coming out of Croatia were those of a bloody, genocidal and merciless war.
That party is also turning point in Zagreb's rave history, kicking off more and more large parties taking place in huge and popular venues.
To some, it signaled the death of the "golden" period of Zagreb's pure, raw, underground and unadulterated rave phase, before things got so exposed and interesting to the media, and common, "ordinary" people.
However, it is unquestionably a landmark event in croatian party history, and the beginning of Petar Dundov's steady rise to become one of the leading figures of electronic music in Eastern Europe. Oh yeah, and it's a great record too. A true testament to the old schhol!
